Alexandra Soberon is an Assistant Professor of Fundamentals of the Economic Analysis at University of Cantabria. She has been visiting researcher at the department of economics of the University Carlos III (Madrid) and at the Mathematisches Institut Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen (Germany).
Her research interests spans different aspects of the estimation and testing of nonparametric and semiparametric models, the analysis of the individuals’ behavior through panel data techniques, empirical microeconomics with applications to firm’s technical efficiency. Further, her work can also be positioned in the field of computational statistics. Dr. Soberon has published her research on some top journals in economics and econometrics such as Journal of Multivariate Analysis, Computational Statistics, The Econometric Journal, and Journal of Economic Surveys, among others.
In the last years, Dr. Soberon has participated in various research projects funded by the Spanish Government and she has presented her researches in a great deal of national and international professional meetings. Also, she received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Cantabria and a master’s in economics from University of the Basque Country, University of Cantabria, and University of Oviedo. Later, she earned her Doctorate in Economics from University of Cantabria.
