Faustino Prieto is an Associate Professor of Quantitative Methods at the Department of Economics of the University of Cantabria. In addition, he has extensive professional experience in different companies of the Information and Communications Technologies sector, as well as in the Public Administration.
Dr. Prieto has been a visiting professor at European University Institute (Italy), University of Barcelona (Spain), and University of Jaen (Spain). In addition, he has participated in various research projects funded by the Spanish Government.
His scientific interests are focused on the area of complex network systems and on the statistical modeling of emerging phenomena. He has published articles in several scientific journals such as Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, Accident Analysis & Prevention, International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, Insurance: Mathematics & Economics, Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, Journal of Informetrics, Applied Mathematics and Computation.
Dr. Prieto received a Msc degree in Telecommunications from Technical University of Madrid, a MBA from ICADE (Comillas Pontifical University). He earned his Doctorate in Economics from University of Cantabria.
