Franciso Peñaranda is an Associate Professor in the Queens College, City University of New York. He was a Research Fellow at the Financial Markets Group of London School of Economics (UK) and later an Assistant Professor at the University of Alicante and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). Before joining Queens College, Dr. Peñaranda was AGL researcher at the Santander Financial Institute, a joint enterprise of Santander Bank and the University of Cantabria.
As a visiting researcher, Dr. Peñaranda has been at Fuqua School of Business in Duke University (North Caroline), Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI) in Madrid, and the department of economics of the University of Chicago.
Peñaranda’s research interests are financial econometrics, asset pricing and portfolio management. His research has appeared in some of the top journals in finance such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, and International Economic Review.
In addition, he has presented his research in a several national and international conferences. He received a bachelor’s degree in business management, a master’s in banking from University of Castilla-La Mancha, and a master in economics and finance at CEMFI. He earned his Doctorate in economics from CEMFI.
